- Disclose, prior to accepting the assignment, any limitations arising from service to other clients that may affect the search.
- Spend sufficient time with client to understand needs, organizational culture and personality and the position(s) to be filled.
- Ensure that a written position specification is agreed upon so as to accurately represent the needs of the client to prospective candidates.
- Communicate regularly and candidly, both orally and in writing, to assure client that the candidate has a correct, comprehensive understanding of the assignment and that timely progress is being made.
- Never use deliberate falsehoods or misrepresentations in any contact with any party, either client or candidate.
- Review the research conducted to assure client the search is comprehensive and all reasonable steps have been taken to identify potential candidates.
- Bring maximum objectivity to evaluating the candidate and the quality of the match with client’s organization.
- Refer only candidates who have been personally interviewed.
- Provide client with summary of pertinent information on all referred candidates.
- Conduct thorough reference checking of candidates, as directed by the client, at a time appropriate to the successful completion of the search.
- Respect the client relationship by not recruiting any person from client organization for at least one year after the completion of a search assignment.
- Regard all information concerning client business affairs as completely confidential unless otherwise noted by client.
- Maintain the highest standard of professional behavior so that all actions reflect favorably upon the client organization.
